As it has been reported in our March 2019 newsletter, our John Plimsoll, and probably the nominated executor of your estate, has retired. Several of our clients have expressed concern: “What now?”
Well, there is no need for concern since our Wills make provision for a replacement executor to ensure that there will always be a person at the Aliwal Road Trust Company (Pty) Ltd (ARTC) to take up the appointment and be responsible for administering your estate. Our very capable and experienced attorney and co-director, Annaliese Lubowski, will make sure that all issues surrounding your Last Will and Testament are well cared for.
Remember, life evolves and circumstances change all the time so it is most important to ensure that your Will reflects your current financial affairs, and your family and emotional wishes. A Will is a living document but becomes cast in stone when you are no longer around. It is therefore particularly important to avoid a lot of heartache and pain for those left behind and to regularly revise your Last Will and Testament.
Most importantly, remember, “if it is not on paper, it is vapour”.
